Howard Hersh’s "Four Bridges" is a sound installation at Montalvo Arts Center, designed to be experienced via mobile devices while walking a 26-minute woodland trail through redwood canyons, hardwood forests, and meadows. The narrative combines children's choir, instrumental music, poetry, and archival recordings to explore the forest as a metaphor for shared humanity, featuring voices of political and religious injustice victims linked to Angel Island, Japanese-American internment, and the Holocaust.

This trail incorporates recordings of interviews with survivors of the disaster and complements information given at the new Bethnal Green Disaster Memorial in honouring the 173 men, women and children who died in the Bethnal Green underground shelter disaster of 3 March 1943. Walkie Talkie Dream Garden, developed by sound artist Dafna Naphtali, is an interactive soundwalk app featuring geo-tagged electroacoustic compositions triggered by participants’ GPS location along the Williamsburg waterfront in Brooklyn and the Wilhelmsburg area of Hamburg. The project recreates historical and imagined soundscapes from industrial and post-industrial sites, experienced exclusively on-site via the U-GRUVE AR Audio platform.
