The Imaginary Drift is an audio series created during the COVID-19 pandemic that uses GPT-2-generated texts to produce spoken word descriptions of dreamlike, imaginary landscapes inspired by brief walks outside. Developed by new media artist Alan Dunning, the project explores the interplay of human input and AI in constructing narratives of macroscopic and microscopic worlds.

Let’s Take a Walk is a hybrid Twitter and on-site performance project begun in 2010, where participants walk together virtually and physically, engaging in dialogue on social topics while the artist’s knitted overskirt unravels to leave traces. Documented through film, photographs, and installations, the project has completed 40 walks and encourages communal reflection through synchronized journeys across locations.

This project is an augmented reality walk and installation that uses smartphones to transform objects and locations into poetry, images, and sounds, starting with a live performance at the Karolos Koun theatre. The experience continues outdoors in Athens’ Plaka district, where walking performers and hidden sound elements present texts by Homer, Kazantzakis, Solomos, Elytis, Seferis, and Kavafis in a hybrid media sound walk by Geert Vermeire and Aliki Arnaouti.

This site-specific artwork at Cranbrook Educational Community in Michigan critically engages with the legacy of the land, situated on occupied Anishinaabe territory. It includes an altered reproduction of George Gough Booth’s "erasures plan" map and an interactive audio-guided walk that explores the ongoing impact of settler colonialism on the site.
