At some point in an unimaginably distant future: the people of tomorrow, who have saved themselves to the beginning of a new era by the downfall, float for generations on the sea of plastic waste from past epochs. Where ruins, mosaics and statues have been left over the millennia, only mountains of plastic remind us of our glorious century of progress. Right in the middle: them, the remaining ones. They know: nothing. And in the rubble of yesterday they set out on a search for a Genesis, for the guidance for a new better world.

Starting from an omnipresent end-time mood, Emre Akal and his team ask for this: “What is it that you are looking for? What comes after the imaginable future, after the collapse of liberal democracy and old Europe as we knew it? In a formally abstract world of images, they let the future rub against the past, dig the people of tomorrow in the rubble of memory in order to create the design of a society for tomorrow from the ruins of the past – always remembering: What are we leaving behind as society today, the people of the future, and will we have learned from our mistakes? What remains of… us?
