During September, 30 Days of Prompts

We’ve partnered up with walk · listen · create to bring you 30 Days of Prompts.

September is Sound Walk September, celebrating walking in general, and sound walking in particular. What’s a sound walk?

sound walk, or walking piece, is any walk that focuses on listening to the environment, with or without the use of technology, or adds to the experience through the use of sound or voice. This can include a scripted or choreographed score or work that has additional audio elements.

walk · listen · create is the home of walking artists and artist walkers. During the global Sound Walk September, events all over the world allow participants to explore their surroundings through walking and sound walking. At the same time, scores of new walking pieces compete for the Sound Walk September Awards.

This September, Dérive app and walk · listen · create partner up to bring you 30 Days of Prompts. From the start until the end of September, every 12 hours, you will be presented with a prompt which will nudge you to explore the public space around you.

You can participate through Dérive app, by joining the in-app event ’30 Days of Prompts’, or you can follow @30DaysOfPrompts on Twitter, and get your 12-hourly fix right there.

When you participate via Dérive app, you can submit your experiences right within the app, to share with other participants. Or, you can post your submissions to the social network of your preference. In case of the latter, do tag your work with #SWS22 and #30DoP.

Happy exploring!
