The Royal Parks charity and UP Projects are launching a new 6-month paid residency for an early to mid-career artist with a socially engaged practice, starting in January 2026.
- Location: St Mary’s Lodge, Greenwich Park
- Fee & Support: £22,000 artist fee plus on-site studio space and bespoke mentoring
- Deadline to apply: Midnight 2 November 2025
The residency offers an artist the opportunity to develop their socially engaged practice, whilst building connections with Greenwich Park’s diverse local communities across Greenwich, Lewisham, and Tower Hamlets.
They’re looking for artists who:
- Have an established socially engaged practice
- Understand barriers faced by underserved communities
- Have a close connection to Greenwich, Lewisham, or Tower Hamlets
- Recognise the cultural and social value of urban green spaces

The Walking Assembly 2026 (9–13 May 2026) is a nomadic, field-based gathering in Catalonia for artists, researchers, educators, and collectives exploring walking as embodied, relational, and ecological knowledge.
