Kite making workshop and simultaneous flight in Prespa, Greece and London, UK

Our walkshop will begin with a presentation exploring the possibilities and problematics of a reparative walking practice within the context of the global pandemic.

Following the screening, our team will run a workshop via a video call from London. We will guide you through making individual cells of a kite – small tetrahedrons which will then be assembled together into a larger kite structure (similar in form to the kite pictured on the left).

As a group, you will fly your kite simultaneously with a second group in London who will have made their own kite using the same method. The flying will happen the same day at 7 pm in Prespa and at 5 pm in London.

For the London event, see this page: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/windwalking-a-simultaneous-drift-in-london-and-prespa-london-event-tickets-160429528037?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=escb

See you on the hill!

What to bring:

We will provide the main materials you need for the workshop, but participants are asked to bring paper and scissors with them.

Using coloured paper can be a great way to personalise your section of the kite.

Each participant will need 4 pieces that are A3 size.

If you do not have A3 paper, 2 A4 pieces sellotaped together works just as well.
Another good option is to use newspaper.

We do encourage you to bring distinctive paper and/or pens and pencils if you can, as we are interested in the idea of each section of the kite being clearly identifiable to its maker.

The rest of the materials you need have been sent in a package from London!
