Alison ‘Ali’ Porter is a writer, actor and theatre company trustee originally from Halesowen in the Black Country now living in Milton Keynes. She recently completed a PhD in Theatre Studies at the University of Warwick. Her poetry has been published in several anthologies including MinK#5 Home, The Plough Prize, The Caterpillar and Tremble. She has been longlisted twice for the National Poetry Prize. She is a descendant of James Woodhouse, the poetical shoemaker.
