Anna Chopping
Anna's work as an artist/designer has spanned numerous disciplines; museum and exhibition design, installation art events, theatre and festival literature, advertising and marketing campaign communication, all underpinned by a passion for branding and transformative design. Working within a diverse community of branding and design agencies (including Channel 4, Cannes Film Festival, Diageo, & Festival Republic) her practice has been inspired by her connections with place; living in Paris, London, Bristol, and Edinburgh before settling in Manchester in 2012.
In recent years, Anna's work has leant in towards cultivating creative engagement between people and place; linking art, sound and design practice, preoccupied with how we establish, understand and utilise the sensory and physical spaces we inhabit and interact within; creative placemaking.
In 2016 Anna co-founded a Community Arts Group called Two by Two. The organisation was set up to create inclusive community art events in Sale town centre. "Our work sought to establish a creative ethos for the town through community art workshops, exhibitions and installations. We acquired funding and forged links between organisations, schools, and local businesses; designing, coordinating and producing a large scale outdoor exhibition; crowd-funded public art, and a series of activities and interactive art events, driving footfall in the town centre."
Anna seeks to develop ideas and produce events/experiences that bring culture, heritage, technology, and creative practice together; working to deliver activity in the community that creates and enriches connections between people and place.
