Bottomley

David Bottomley is a poet, artist, playwright, and librettist originally from Whitby, Yorkshire. His play, 'Waterton’s Wild Menagerie' was shortlisted for the Nick Darke Award, and 'Britain For Breakfast' was a finalist at the Enter Stage Write Awards at Birmingham Hippodrome 2020.
His work is published in a number of anthologies and he was recently awarded 2nd Prize in the E.H.P. Barnard Poetry Prize 2021.

He has performed at The Poetry Café, The South Bank Centre, St James Theatre, London Literary Festivals, and in his one-man show, Message In A Bottle, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

He is currently working in collaboration with American and British composers on chamber song cycle settings of his poetry and short-form operas.

During Lockdown he collaborated with 50 creatives to interpret 50 of his poems on film for the Lockdown Poetry Film Festival. They can be viewed on the website link to Youtube BottomleyWrites.
