Fabian Gutscher graduated with a degree in Sound Art from Bern University of the Arts in 2008. He received his Master of Arts in Transdisciplinary Studies at University of the Arts Zürich (ZHdK) 2017 with an intermedia and collaborative walking project. In his studies he founded the Long Distant Lab. He works as a research associate in the Research Focus in Transdisciplinarity (FSP-T) under Prof. Florian Dombois at ZHdK since 2017. 
His artistic work includes installations, interactive sculptures, and composition and sound-design for theater and dance throughout Switzerland, Germany, and Hong Kong. Listening through out the disciplines has been the guideline for recent years. With his master thesis on walking, listening with our body has been explored in “The Synchronisator-Project” and in collaborations with dancers and choreographers. 
Since 2021, Fabian Gutscher works as a research associate in the MediaLab at the ETH Zürich under the Chair of Prof. Christoph Girot, where he works on acoustic simulation, spatialisation and auralisation in virtual spaces.
