Johanna Steindorf

Johanna Steindorf is a German- Brazilian media artist. She holds a bachelor’s degree from PUC-Rio de Janeiro in Visual Communication (2005), a diploma from the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne (2009) and a Ph.D. from the Bauhaus-University (2019). Johanna has been teaching regularly at different universities since 2015 including the University of Cologne and the University of Siegen. She has been an assistant researcher at the University of Applied Sciences HMKW and KISD (TH Köln) in Cologne.

In Germany since 2006, she has been working with participative performances, audio, photography and video. Often using narrative and mobile strategies, her work deals with the subject of migration, nomadism, gender and walking.

slow marathon

A marathon length walk in Huntly/Aberdeenshire and other places, where people can walk as slow as they like. Celebrating the human pace, it is both an endurance event as well as a poetic act that brings together friendship, physical activity and an appreciation of our varied landscapes.
