Johannes M. Hedinger is a Swiss curator, cultural scholar, cultural manager, and artist. He is the founder and long-standing director of the Institute for Land and Environmental Art (ILEA), the Art Safiental Biennale, and the Alps Art Academy Summer School. His curatorial work spans more than 30 exhibitions, including biennials and collaborations with museums and institutions worldwide. As co-founder of the artist collective Com&Com, he has contributed to over 130 exhibitions, among them the Venice Biennale and Centre Pompidou. In his teaching and research at ZHdK, HKB Bern, and the University of Cologne, he explores transdisciplinarity, art education, and the intersections of art and ecology. Hedinger sees himself as a producer of narratives, discourses, and projects that position art as a catalyst for social transformation and sustainable change. His current research includes projects on Fluxus, landscape, and sustainability, accompanied by numerous publications on art, culture, and the environment.
