Kórinna Latèlis
Kórinna Latèlis is a classically trained musician, performing arts practitioner and academic researcher. She is an Onassis Foundation scholar for her PhD in Byzantine History and Music Anthropology (NKUOA, Athens, 2014) and a Voudouris Foundation scholar for her DEA in History and Civilizations (EHESS, Paris, 2001). She also holds an MA in Applied-Clinical Sociology and Arts (UAegean/UoWM, 2025).
Her current research focuses on contemporary public-space performance, with a special interest on walking art-as-research. Other research areas include historical performance and performers, especially of the Late Byzantine era (13th -16th c.).
In 2011 Kórinna founded AérEchO, a platform dedicated to the artistic creation and research on public space. She has participated in several performance festivals, in Greece and in Europe (Italy, Poland, Bulgaria) and has been awarded for her work (Athens International Street Festival, 2012).
Kórinna was a Stanley J. Seeger Visiting Research Fellow for Hellenic Studies at Princeton University (USA), for the Fall Term 2018.
She is member of CMRC-KSYME (Contemporary Music Research Centre – Athens, Greece) and has collaborated as a researcher with the Institute of Historical Research of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (IHRF/NHRF) and the Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology Laboratory (EthnoLab – Music Studies Dept, NKUOA).
She has taught "Sociology of the Arts", "Anthropology of Art" and "Anthropology and Contemporary Art" at the University of the Aegean (Mytilene, Greece) and has presented papers in conferences, in Greece and abroad.
