A storyteller exploring hidden narratives through sound
(Australia)

Online Jury 2022 SWS Grand Jury 2023
I'm an Australian-based interdisciplinary artist whose creative output uses sound, video, and writing to explore layers of nuance and complexity within the rural and regional territories in which I work. I'm always looking for new voices and perspectives, human and more-than-human, seeking those hidden elements that make a place vibrate. Through ongoing study, observation, and field recordings, I aim to create bodies of work that may present environments in a way new to even those who know them well, teasing out narratives of connection and giving a voice to the voiceless. My works are presented in exhibitions, festivals, and online platforms.

I started out in print and radio journalism in the late 1980s and early 90s, but for the past 26 years, I've been working in issues-based communications and content production across regional New South Wales. My experience and knowledge of rural, regional and remote Australia underpins my creative practice.

ecoPULSE.art is the online home of collaborative ecology-centred projects, exploring relationships with, responses to and narratives about our place in the natural world and within rural and regional territories, wherever they may be.
