Nick is the Deputy Editor of Country Walking, Britain's bestselling walking magazine. He was pressganged into walking by his parents at a young age (in an act of borderline child cruelty, they dragged him along the South Downs Way at the age of four) and somehow he failed to rebel against this upbringing. After a career as a feature writer and editor in local newspapers, he joined Country Walking in 2007 and contributes features, news and gear reviews to every issue. The magazine is also home to the multi-award-winning #walk1000miles challenge, which has so far inspired more than 150,000 people to rise to the challenge of walking 1000 miles in a calendar year.
