Tomáš Hrůza (*Czechoslovakia, 1979) is a visual artist working primarily with photography, video and performance. His practice explores poetical reflections of nature and often combines creative work with journeys to various cultures. He studied photography at the Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem.
Tomáš was an associate lecturer at FAMU Prague and FaVU Brno where he currently studies his PhD. He co-founded Fotograf Gallery, Magazine, and Festival - interconnected projects reflecting on contemporary photography and visual culture. With his brother, he established ArtMap, a cultural platform providing services in visual arts, including a reuse center, publishing and art book retail. His passion for hiking led him to co-found Pilgrim - Wandering University of Nature, a non-profit focusing on revitalizing the relationship between humans and nature through walks, screenings, and discussions. He is a member of the experimental music and art group Střešovická Kramle. His work has been exhibited in many Czech galleries and international venues.
