Walking by Ryan Larkin – NFB

Animator Ryan Larkin uses an artist’s sensibility to illustrate the way people walk. He employs a variety of techniques–line drawing, colour wash, etc.–to catch and reproduce the motion of people afoot. base80 :-)

Beestachtig - Wildsnoeier - Cutting Hedge - m²Circles - Walking Around I am base80, I used to be super famous for my Cinema 4d tutorial site base80.com, yep same me. I have almost completely stopped doing 3d-modeling and animation but hey, what I do now is kind of the same 🙂 Modeling shrubs and making GIFs and being fascinated by scale, dimension and shape and a strong dislike of rounded numbers. This site is about all the things I forgot to do while working behind a computer. There are parallels to be found between the two universes like for example the “Undo” button on a computer is like waiting a year in nature and hoping the shrub has repaired itself.

oversupinate

People who jog, run, and sprint have their share of problems that slow-moving people can barely comprehend. One is oversupination. As the OED defines it, to oversupinate is “To run or walk so that the weight falls upon the outer sides of the feet to a greater extent than is necessary, desirable, etc.” A 1990 Runner’s World article gets to the crux of the problem: “It’s hard to ascertain exactly what percentage of the running population oversupinates, but it’s a fraction of the people who think they do.” Credits to Mark Peters.
