Walking Lunches
Walking Lunches is a series of walking meetings led by Claudia Zeiske, where participants discuss topics while walking, share sandwiches and tea, and take photos. The project encourages fitness and networking, with each participant committing to spread the practice.
• UK Border Walk
UK Border Walk (2011) is a performative 77km walk along the Scottish–English border by Rocca Gutteridge and Claudia Zeiske, responding to the UK’s Tier 5 visa. Through walking and public debate, it highlighted how migration policy restricts artistic exchange and mobility.
OUT OF SIGHT
OUT OF SIGHT by Lawrence Weiner is an interactive, site-specific text-based work installed on the floor, engaging audiences physically and intellectually. It transforms museums and public spaces into pathways for reflection, connection, and self-discovery.
The Muster
From 2004–2006, Sunny A. Smith organized The Muster, large-scale participatory art events inspired by Civil War reenactments. Participants crafted uniforms, camps, and declared causes, creating a live forum for diverse political, social, and whimsical expressions.
Center for Getting Ugly
The Center for Getting Ugly is a pedagogical art initiative using walks, performance, and archives to explore collectivism beyond the commodity form, generating shared knowledge through public movement, gatherings, exhibitions, and social experiments.
Walking pieces
Slow Marathon
A 26-mile conceptual walk celebrating the human pace, Slow Marathon combines endurance, reflection, and landscape appreciation. Launched in 2012 with Mihret Kebede’s metaphorical Addis–Huntly walk, it now includes annual themed routes and related talks and events.
All the Names for Everything
**All The Names for Everything** was a walk on Mount Nemo with educators and Indigenous leaders exploring scientific, cultural, and Indigenous naming of plants and places, reflecting on colonial histories and expanding nature education through diverse perspectives.

We invite you to explore Prespa, a national park and lake at the border of Greece, Albania and North Macedonia, and a venue of art practice for almost two decades. Art and science, biology and ecology meet in an evening with two panels about Prespa, water and arts, in a dialogue with artists, researchers, scientists and ecologists, a confluence of the Prespa lake with Oika in the US, the El Hondo Wetland in Spain, the wet meadows of Somerset Levels and the waters of Yarun (Bribie Island) in Australia.
