Geolocation
Highlights
Geolocated poetry in Ghent (S.M.A.K.)
Geolocated poetry was a pilot project launched on 1 May 2011, featuring a geolocated poetry sound walk with live art performances in Citadel Park near the City Museum of Contemporary Art (S.M.A.K.). The project, coordinated by Geert Vermeire and involving Escoitar.org / noTours and the Milena principle/WIT Urban Team, was later updated and presented at the E-Culture Fair in Hasselt in November 2011.
LOTTERY
LOTTERY is a geolocated sound walk in Rochedale, a suburban area south of Meanjin/Brisbane, featuring recorded voices imagining life after winning 5-10 million dollars. The 20-minute walk includes changing musical cues and voices that shift as participants move through different streets, forming part of the 2020 res[on]ance [off] exhibition.
Chantry and Calder
Love Without Sound’s geolocative soundwalk, Chantry and Calder, uses the Echoes app to guide listeners around Wakefield’s medieval bridge, Chantry Chapel, and the river Calder, inspired by JMW Turner’s 1798 watercolour of the site. The walk requires a smartphone with location enabled and offers an immersive audio experience triggered by proximity to key locations along the route.
