Animal Parade
Wearing “animal-track” Shoe covers, we walked through a snowy city, marking the white streets with various animal footprints. In this animal-like manner, we have temporarily reclaimed the urban territory, leaving behind a trail of puzzles and reverie.
GrandTourists of the 21st Century. A 300km participatory art walk
In August 2025, a group of walkers set out on foot from Barcelona to Ogassa in the Spanish Pyrenees, eventually carrying a cello to the summit of the Taga, a mountain peak rising above 2,000 metres. Choreographing City & Choreographing Walking
"SCHRITTWEISE" by Katja Münker is a performance-intervention, using choreography and walking to engage with city environments and create performative walks. It combines physical performances with an audio-guide and a research toolkit available online. The project aims to establish a collective aesthetic space and invites individuals to interpret and co-create within the provided framework, reaching beyond social and physical boundaries imposed by COVID-19.
Ashiato (Footprints)
Footprints by Akira Kanayama is a walkable artwork of stenciled shoe prints on vinyl. Spectators walk on or alongside it, creating a “double walker” effect that links bodies, traces, and space, blending physical movement with imaginative engagement.
DOOR NOORD
Liesje vd Berk invites residents to explore their surroundings in a unique way: by walking and drawing with all their senses. At the end of each walk, participants share one of their drawings in an exhibition, creating a new map of Amsterdam North.

Estery Wierzba / Esther’s Willow
Esther’s Willow mobilized local institutions, cultural workers, residents, and Jewish descendants and survivors of the city of Chrzanów (PL) to walk a deportation route in reverse and re-plant a white willow sapling in the former Esther’s Square.
Louisiana Walk
A walk piece by Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller, curated by Bruce Ferguson for the landmark group exhibition Walking and Thinking and Walking, at the Louisiana Art Museum in Denmark, 1996. The walk leads the audience through the back end of the museum, by the sea, through a garden, mixing fictional images evoked by the narration with factual imagery seen by the listener.
