The Terror of War (1972) captures 9-year-old Kim Phúc screaming while fleeing a napalm attack in Vietnam. The image reveals the human cost of war, became iconic worldwide, and earned the Pulitzer, though its authorship was later questioned.

I compiled sounds recorded during a walk around Hilbre Island during high tide, when the island is cut off from mainland Wirral. I wanted to document the atmosphere of the island, for anyone unwilling or unable to make the journey themselves.

Walgett was a pivotal site in Australia’s Freedom Ride, where students confronted racial discrimination against Aboriginal people, notably the exclusion of Aboriginal veterans from the local RSL. Two key incidents there brought national attention to the issue of racial discrimination for the first time, marking a significant moment in Australian civil rights history.

This project retraced a Nazi Death March route, walking from Frome to Bath in 2015 on the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belsen, and completing the original route in Germany in 2016 on the 71st anniversary. The walks included remote participants who identified and adapted historic death march routes for contemporary commemoration, with documentation gathered for exhibition.

On the 75th anniversary of Auschwitz-Birkenau's liberation, the author completed a walking circumnavigation of the Birkenau camp by navigating the surrounding area, as no road fully encircles the site. This walk, undertaken during a public closure with restricted access and significant security, was originally streamed live on Facebook and is now compiled into a single video.

The Westerbork trail is a route that starts at the Hollandse Schouwburg theatre in Amsterdam and runs until the Westerbork concentration camp, following the trail of persecuted jews during the Second World War.
