Practices and potential of transpositional locative sound art in performative arts. An online panel with NG Bristow, Richard Shannon, Ricardo Climent, Fred Adam and Geert Vermeire
This panel brings together artists and researchers with an interest in the possibilities of transposing soundscapes of different places and times in performative works, by the use of mobile devices.
NG Bristow and Richard Shannon (Goldsmiths, London) are two of the people behind One Oh Eight, a pair of geolocated audio dramas set on the 108 bus routes in London and Cape Town.
Fred Adam (CGeomap) is art director of Jungle-ized, a project by Sound Walk Collective New York, folding the map of the world at the Equator to relocate the sounds of a small section of the Amazon rainforest to a corresponding area of Times Square, New York.
Geert Vermeire (CGeomap) is creator of Ecumenopolis, launched at Analogio Festival, a work with a utopian imperative, gathering and transposing field recordings of various ‘silences’ in and around libraries in Sao Paulo, Athens, London and Moscow.
Ricardo Climent (Novars, University Manchester) is initiator of Locative Audio and Synchronised Cities and Hyperwalk.

Richard Shannon is a producer / audio dramatist. He runs the MA in Radio at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Ricardo Climent is professor of Interactive Music Composition at University of Manchester. Director of the NOVARS Research Centre and coordinator of the LocativeAudio Research Network.
Fred Adam is a New Media Explorer and Geo-Storyteller. Co-founder of the locative media web platform CGeomap and founder of GPSMuseum Lab.
Geert Vermeire is a poet, walking artist, curator with a focus on spatial writing and locative sound. Core team member of CGeomap – co-founder of Supercluster – locative media for the XXI Century. Since 2015 curator of new media and outdoors practices at the Analogio Festival.
