Australia
Kim V. Goldsmith is an Australian-based artist who uses a range of digital media and writing to explore layers of nuance and complexity within the rural and regional territories in which she works. In the search for new perspectives, she seeks those hidden elements that make a place vibrate. Through research, observation, and field recordings, Kim aims to create works that present them in a way new to even those who know them well, teasing out narratives of connection and giving a voice to the voiceless. These works are presented across Australia and internationally in festivals, exhibitions, and online platforms.
Kim started out in print and radio journalism in the late 1980s and early 90s, but for the past 26 years, she's worked in issues-based communications and content production across regional New South Wales. She brings her extensive experience and knowledge of rural, regional and remote Australia to her practice as a digital media artist and writer.
