Molly Wagner is an ‘unintentional migrant’ to Australia. She left the USA in 1988 for an anticipated five-year residence in Australia and continues to live there. She experiences a chronic sense of transience and impermanence, and Walking Art gives her a way to explore these themes. Molly walks in the urban, suburban, and rural landscapes using photography, drawings, and written reflections to share her walks with others. Molly has exhibited her Walking Art in several group and solo exhibitions since completing her BFA and Honours degrees at the National Art School and UNSW School of Art and Design in 2016. She recently published her book 'No Trespassing! The Art and Politics of Walking in New South Wales' in which she describes her walking experiences from Sydney to Bathurst. She attended the International Walking Art and Relational Geographies Conference in Catalonia in July 2022 where she presented her walks in Australia.
