China

Vera has studied architectural history at the University of Amsterdam. She has worked as a cultural producer in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, developing and producing events and lecture programmes for Het Nieuwe Instituut, the Institute of Network Cultures and also under her own flag.

In 2016 she cycled from Amsterdam to Tokyo. Since then, she has settled in Yunnan, China's diverse southwest province. Here, she co-founded KISS, the Kunming International Situationist Society. KISS is a collective of international and Chinese artists and theorists who explore Situationist theory and practice in a Chinese context. This has resulted in several dérives and two editions of the KISS Microfest.

She is currently living in a small village just north of tourist destination Dali, where she has renovated a traditional courtyard home. From this rural headquarters, she continues to develop and produce cultural events with partners across Yunnan, and hosts an Artist in Residence.
