Ghost Walker: An Impossible Walk Through Mexico City's History explores a vanished street using historic maps and Google overlays. Inspired by dérive and Collective Actions techniques, the project traces 150 years of urban change, absence, and memory through a participatory artistic walk.

In the I Went series (1968–79), On Kawara traced his daily movements on photocopied maps using red pen, marking his starting point with a dot. Maps were preserved in binders, with arrows and notes indicating his routes, creating a consistent, diaristic record of travel.

The soundwalk “Los Pasos de Mama Killa” (The Steps of Mama Killa) explores the collective meaning of agency at night, presenting the nighttime as a communal and relational space grounded in mutual care. The sound design was developed using sound-augmented reality on the ECHOES platform. This work was created for the Sur Aural Sound Festival in 2024, held in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

This audio paper presents the Shadow-walks project, where the author collaborates with local inhabitants worldwide to document meaningful, repeated walks through recorded conversations and improvised vocalizations. The project explores how repeated walking imprints traces on places, making personal narratives and communal memories audible, with adaptations during the COVID-19 pandemic including remote interpretations of these walks.
