ONE OH EIGHT is a pair of geolocated binaural audio dramas designed to be listened to in situ on the 108 bus routes in Cape Town and London, accessible via the Echoes.xyz platform or mobile app. The London route covers diverse neighborhoods from Blackheath to Stratford International Station, while the Cape Town route traverses areas including Hangberg, Hout Bay, and Sea Point, highlighting contrasting social histories and environments.
The Red Watering Can
Whatever we do can have an effect on the other side of the world. On 12 September 2021 artist Jaak Coetzer and curator Claudia Zeiske each walked 21km along their respective shores on either side of the globe, amounting to a Slow Marathon with purpose. At the Cape of Good Hope and Edinburgh's Firth of Forth, they poured out water to be carried to each other's places by the ocean currents. They took their children Theriodopiolus and Rachel along, to talk about the state and future of our world and its coastlines in the wake of the COP 26 Climate Change Conference.

Sounds from the Rim of Africa
The Rim of Africa is a long-distance walking route through the Cape Fold Mountains near Cape Town, completed in 2012 by Jay Simpson during a National Geographic Young Explorer’s Grant. Over 50 days, Simpson scouted the passage and recorded ambient sounds of the wilderness, including streams, wildlife, and hiking activities, which are available as a free sound collage on SoundCloud.
