Walking Body – Walking Visions

12 Mar, 2023

walk · listen · create sets foot in Guimaraes, in the North of Portugal. All week long and for the 4th consecutive time, there are a series of artistic walks, walkshops, talks and an exhibition-lab of walking art all over the urban and natural area of the city. Six international artists, including myself, this year from Belgium, Greece, Spain and Brazil, along with four Portuguese walking artists, present their walking practice and invite the locals to rediscover their city.
Check out and be inspired by the diverse program here.

The Walking Body emerged in the run up of the first walking encounters in Prespa, in 2019, and precedes the encounter happening in July at the breathtaking nature reserve of the Prespa Lake, at the border of Greece, Albania, North Macedonia. Previous editions gathered hundreds of walking artists around the world to walk and talk together, and to connect.

WLC is a permanent partner in both events, and many of our web community already had the opportunity to meet in person with each other and with us during these walking art celebrations.
The open call deadline for the Prespa Walking Arts Encounter is still open till March 31st.
The encounter will happen on location but invites as well to simultaneous walking art proposals and other activities in other countries online connected with the event in Greece.
Open call and more information here.
Looking forward to your proposals!
