Walking Sculpture with Michelangelo Pistoletto

On a visit by Michelangelo Pistoletto to Philadelphia, to celebrate the opening of two major exhibitions devoted to his work, the artist recreated his Scultura Da Passeggio (Walking Sculpture), a seminal ‘action’ first performed in 1967 on the streets of Turin, Italy.

On Saturday, October 30th 2010, the artist rolled a giant ball of newspapers made with the help of Spiral Q Puppet Theater out of Museum unto the streets of Philadelphia. This video follows Pistoletto from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, along the Schuylkill River Trail to Rittenhouse Square, City Hall, and back up the Ben Franklin Parkway to the Museum.

Recorded in Philadelphia Museum of Art, Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA, USA
