Bird Hide is a site-specific collaborative project. The gallery will become a bird hide, literally, a place for watching and listening to the wild birds in the park. Birds are key indicators of the environmental health of any location, in particular the impact of climate change. As humans we have deep connections with birds across all cultures and the project is oriented to the importance of that connection even in the centre of a huge metropolis.

Gascia Ouzounian observes how the sonic agency of non-human life exceeds and disturbs what can be planned in the designing of cities, and Bird Hide focuses on how interspecies voice and language connect to urban space via cooperation, cohabitation and multiplication (Vinciane Despret).

The project includes artworks within/external to the gallery space, audioworks, readings, performances, listening and sounding walks.
