Closing reception for Walking, Lost and Found exhibition

Walking, Lost and Found

Rachel Epp Buller’s new sound piece, “Walking, Lost and Found,” debuts this summer at Compound Yellow in Chicago, July 5 – August 2, 2025.

Join us for the closing reception, August 2, 2-6pm. 244 Lake Street, Oak Park, Illinois.

As part of the exhibition, Compound Yellow commissioned two emerging textile artists, Maia Rauh and Caroline Branch, to design seating in response to the piece. “Natural Pressure: Collaborative Seating” responds in its form and materials to the words and ideas of “Walking, Lost and Found.”

driftsinging

Drawing with (vocal) sound in response to place while passing through place. Driftsinging borrows from the Situationist Drift, and Baudelaire’s flâneur. Driftsinging also relates to the process of ‘sounding,’ the sonic measuring of distance and depth that locates position in place and ‘echo location’, the examination of place through sonic reflection and refraction, resonance and echo.
