Share stories of the people, places and projects that make up your neighbourhood in this engaging and interactive exploratory workshop.

Led by renegade guide and founder of Living London, Saira Niazi, the workshop will guide you towards the creation of your own walking tour. You’ll learn how to choose stops, connect them up, and enable access into spaces. You’ll also have the chance to share your tour with the group.

Materials Provided. Bring photographs, and a map (digital or printed) of your neighbourhood.

Part of Walking! Power! Inclusion! is multi-disciplinary team of artists, curators and researchers brought together by the Centre for Public Engagement Practice in Arts and Humanities, to co-design and deliver inclusive public engagement. This collaborative project explores ideas of power, inclusion and conviviality, and our ability to live together despite difference. For the Backyard Biennial, Walking! Power! Inclusion! has programmed a series of walks and workshops that invite visitors, local residents, and diasporic communities to democratise storytelling in the city; confront the line between private and public space; use photography to shift narratives; and explore Whitechapel with curiosity, creativity and criticality.
