Healing Hours is a community-led project, which invites people to retrace minute moments in daily situations through a series of embodiment exercises. Healing is not provided by the artist; instead, it is enriched and completed during the collective learning process, and determined by the participants’ experience and propositions. All these are interwoven into an intangible community. Through that, subtle, tiny bridges are built. The blending of these intimate conversations aims to empower the affinities between individuals and the city we live in.

The lessons encourage participants to share their creativities and sensibilities through Story(re)telling. The discussion touches on topics such as: How we define ‘healing’, ‘homeland’, and ‘collectivity’ in shared concepts; how we practice or maintain our resilience in a daily repetition; how does healing happen through the lens of walking, hearing, writing, and mapping?

Healing Hours is an extended piece of the ongoing project Presentscape (2021-) created by artist Sin Wah Lai. This project has been shown in several local art communities in Germany, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Spain.
