The Landing Project is launching this first event in a new series of Landing > In the Field walks on and around farms in Shropshire and the borderlands of Wales. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about farming activities on site and for us to extend both the conversation and exploration we are making as part of the Landing Project with a growing community.
This 5 mile walk will start and finish at Berllan Deg farm, Rhoswiel, Weston Rhyn, the home of Molly Brown and Oliver Kynaston (festive refreshments at the farmhouse post walk). From there we will head towards the agro-forestry site at Templefields and Tom’s Fruit Tree Nursery near Bronygarth, following a circular route across the border into Wales and on to Chirk.
For more information or to book a free place on an event email landingartproject@gmail.com
These inclusive events are open to anyone with an interest in farming and the rural landscape. Each event will take place at a different site with walking and some creative activities devised and led by one or more participants. We will invite host farmers, guest artists/writers, environmental specialists or other practitioners to lead or contribute to the discussions and activities.

Song of the Path walkshop
Workshop Leaders: Rosie Montford’s exhibition ‘Song of the Path’ is on at Gallery 44AD. Her practice explores the dialogue between walking and drawing, seeking out landscapes from which she can physically combine disciplines to work across printmaking, drawing and bookmaking. Vicky Hunter is a Visiting Research Fellow in dance and environmental humanities at Bath Spa University and formerly Professor of Site Dance at the University of Chichester. Her site-specific dance research examines the body’s engagement with space and place through considering bodily, spatial and kinetic engagements with environments. Vicky has produced a number of site dance performance works and a book publication Site, Dance and Body: Movement, Materials and Corporeal Engagement (2021).
