Learn how to tell and share your story of Climate Action in a workshop series from Scottish Communities Climate Action Network’s Storyteller Collective!

https://www.scottishcommunitiescan.org.uk/storytellers-collective/

TWO SESSIONS: Thursday 13 & 27 October, 9:30am-12:30pm.

In this workshop, multimedia storytellers Kaska Hempel and Bronwin Patrickson will introduce you to using an izi.travel app for creating a mobile-phone audio tour to tell a compelling, place-based Climate Action story.

The workshop is split into TWO, HALF-DAY SESSIONS and it will:

– cover principles of place-based storytelling,
– share resources for creating multimedia stories,
– help you design a simple audio walking tour,
– and introduce you to using a free izi.travel app to construct your walking tour.

By the end of the workshop you will produce your first place-based walking tour story.

It will be a hands-on interactive session with group discussions, 1:1 support for technical use of izi.travel and recording of audio, as well as time away from screen for personal reflection.

We hope the stories you will create can contribute to 1000 Better Stories blog, a part of SCCAN Storyteller Collective. As contributors you will eligible to apply for a SCCAN mini-grant of up to £250.

For more information get in touch with SCCAN Story Weaver on [email protected].

Preparation:
You will need to a computer to fully participate in this course. A smart phone or a tablet will be useful to make audio recordings.

We will be using the izi.travel app. Before the first session, create your own free account and install the app on your phone or tablet.

You can explore walking tours available through the app or on the website. Search for ‘Tayport in 2030’ to find an example of a climate-engaged story.
