Public Rehearsal: BA Tanz trifft Percussion

Comments

Public Rehearsal: BA Tanz trifft Percussion is a site-responsive walking performance taking place within the Kommunikationsfabrik building in Frankfurt am Main. Organized by Frankfurt LAB in collaboration with the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt, it showcases a collaborative artistic process between students of the bachelor’s programs in dance and percussion. Participants accompany the performers as they move through various spaces of the building, encountering evolving works that integrate spoken text, bodily movement, and live percussion. The event offers an immersive experience where diverse artistic languages intersect, creating spontaneous connections and fresh perspectives through collective exploration.

The approximately one-hour public rehearsal invites the audience not only to witness but also to engage with the creation process in an unconventional, interdisciplinary format. The walking route changes locations within the Kommunikationsfabrik, making the architecture an integral part of the performance’s dynamic environment. While most areas are wheelchair accessible, some spaces may present limitations, and assistance is available to ensure inclusive participation. This event emphasizes the exploratory nature of contemporary performing arts and encourages direct, embodied interaction between artists and spectators.
