Sound has no edge, like the start of every end

Comments

On October 10, 2026, at 3:00 pm in Arnhem’s Park Sonsbeek, participants gather at Molenplaats Sonsbeek for a 20-minute group soundwalk titled “Sound has no edge, like the start of every end,” led by composer and theater-maker Soraya Lutangu Bonaventure. This event extends Korakrit Arunanondchai’s sculptural installation into an immersive auditory experience, where his voice is carried throughout the park’s wooded, hilly terrain. The walk evokes a haunting atmosphere of memory, decay, and unseen presences, situating the outdoor environment as a living archive where time and space fluidly overlap.

During the soundwalk, the landscape is transformed into a site of shifting perceptions and post-apocalyptic sensibilities, inviting participants to move through a space caught in cycles of remembering and forgetting. The route winds through the natural contours of Park Sonsbeek, an internationally renowned site for public art exhibitions and cultural programs. Bonaventure’s artistic practice, which explores intersections of embodiment, critical theory, and the nuanced textures of everyday life, informs the experience’s blending of poetic presence and absence within this evolving outdoor setting.
