We are delighted to welcome back Eléonore Ozanne – she writes:
*For the third time, we will be walking together, women, following the full moon, from one end of the world to the other… Last year, on 6 October 2025, we drifted in the same direction on a walk that, thanks to the time zones, lasted around 24 hours. The emotions ran deep, and I received so many moving testimonies that I needed time to let them take the shape of a collective story.
On 30 July 2026, it is this story that I want to share with you. A story of the unknown. A story of a simple adventure, of joy, and of questioning. A story both plural and singular, in which all of us, each from our own singularity, voice and way of seeing the world, walk toward the same direction: the moon.
A story that, I hope, will make you want to dream and to explore the night with us on 26 September 2026!
*This project does not seek to reinforce a binary view of gender. We understand “woman” as anyone whose body, story or experience resonates with this proposal.”
An opportunity for participants in Women Walking, the City, at Night will take place online here, as Harvest Moon Reflections on Thursday 30 October.
Within the hour long event, there will be a report on progress in the WALC project given by artistic coordinators Geert Vermeire and Yannis Ziogas. Geert Vermeire will take us on a walk through the open call for the Made of Walking Lab in Prosperpolder (10–18 September), part of the WALC programme.
Hosts
Walking Arts & Local Communities (WALC) is an artistic cooperation project, co-funded by the European Union, Creative Europe, starting in January 2024 for four years. With seven partners from five countries, WALC establishes an International Center for Artistic Research and Practice of Walking Arts, in Prespa, Greece, at the border with Albania and North Macedonia, backed up by an online counterpart in the format of a digital platform for walking arts.
WALC builds on the previous work of hundreds of artists and researchers already practicing Walking Arts as a collaborative medium, and having met at the significant previous walking arts events and encounters in Greece, Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, and during online activities at walk · listen · create.
