Walking off the map

Fox is watching

Let’s join this walk shop, together with Jalan Gembira, Babak Fakhamzadeh (WLC, Dérive app) and Kunci Study Forum & Collective!

How do you usually move in Yogyakarta? By motorcycle, car or public transport? Maybe you already have your own mental map, based on your daily route and what you encounter your journey. This walking workshop, aka walkshop, invites you to experience this city in a different way from your everyday life.

This event is a collaboration between Dérive app, developed by Babak Fakhamzadeh, Jalan Gembira, and Kunci, with support from the Marinus Plantema Foundation. We will experiment with different movement, and choreographies, and will experience the city, more aware of our surroundings, noticing what comes next. Who knew that through the process of getting lost or slowing down, we can find a way to survive this high-speed city?

The workshop covers 2 meetings. The first will be on November 22, online. The second, in-person, meeting will take place on November 29 at the Kunci office.

The discussion will take place in Bahasa Indonesian and English.Confused and interested? Register at https://bit.ly/derivewalkshop

Participants will be contacted no later than November 21 regarding the details of the next event.
