3 Months New York / Toronto is a two-minute video mapping the artist’s daily movements in both cities. Fading GPS traces reveal location patterns over time, using walking as a drawing tool. It is the first work in the ongoing *GPS Series*.

3 Months New York / Toronto is a single-channel video and the first work in the GPS Series. This animation charts the artist’s movements over three months in New York and Toronto. Each day is drawn and then partially fades, allowing individual days to be seen within the larger accumulation. By leaving the page white, the identities of the locations gradually emerge. In this way, the work uses walking as a creative drawing tool.

About the GPS-Series:Since 2004 the artist has carried a GPS device everywhere in order to record their movements. This raw data is used to create animated drawings for an ongoing series.
