Hor-I-zons is a 3,400 km walking performance by Ridha DHIB, carried out between May 2 and August 13, 2019, across 104 stages, linking his Parisian studio to the Tunisian Sahel. This work embodies the hyphen between two cultures, reflecting the artist’s Franco-Tunisian identity and forging a connection between territories through Italy.
At each stage, equipped with a smartphone and an augmented reality compass pointing towards Sousse, Ridha captured an image of the horizon. These images were then sent as postcards to the Institut Français de Tunisie, where they were exhibited progressively, forming a visual progression of the horizons encountered. This collection of images constituted the “Hor-I-zons” line, materializing the link between both shores of the Mediterranean.
This performance was carried out in collaboration with the Institut Français de Tunisie.
