Maps of Being XVIII is a large drawing made in my studio while referring to smaller works and videos made while walking in the streets around my home in Sydney’s Inner West. I walk as a deliberate strategy to maximise presence; the drawings are a byproduct of my investigations. I am a human seismograph. I walk when the streets are quiet to minimise contact with curious neighbours. Walking and drawing at night also ensures heightened attention to sensorial input.
