• Welcome to the Milton Keynes Rose Audiowalk.
This poetic journey through time and memory invites you to explore the Rose not through facts and dates alone, but through the voices of those who helped shape its story. You’ll hear from artists, writers, civic leaders, and local changemakers—people who, over nearly two decades, contributed to the vision, creation, and continued life of this remarkable civic space.
Though the Rose was unveiled in 2013, the idea of a public monument for remembrance and celebration began much earlier. What you hear in this walk is shaped by those long-standing conversations, collaborations, and community hopes.
The audio walk was created by lead artist Jakub Rokita as part of the Milton Keynes Rose 10th
Anniversary Art Project. It features his original sound compositions, field recordings, and texts brought to life through the voice of published Milton Keynes author Ralph Keats.
We invite you to experience the walk in your own way: perhaps while strolling among the pillars, pausing on a bench, or listening from afar. It is not a museum-style guide, but a reflective piece something to feel as much as understand.
For best results, headphones are recommended.
