Pathscape is a project by Reg Carremans that explores movement, landscape, and painting. During the Sideways 2012 Walking and Art Festival, Carremans adapted his boots with canvases, capturing impressions of the terrain with each step to create "landscape paintings" in real-time.

Pathscape is a project that explores the relationship between movement, landscape, and painting. Over the course of the Sideways 2012 Walking and Art Festival, which took place over several days, Reg Carremans walked through various terrains, gathering impressions from the landscape.

He adapted his walking boots to carry canvases on the soles, using them to capture the physical impressions of the terrain with each step. These “landscape paintings” were created in real-time as he moved through the environment. In Pathscape, the landscape itself becomes an active medium in the creation of the artwork. Carremans’ movement and the characteristics of the terrain leave their imprint on the canvases attached to his boots.
