Sound – Archipelago from Stories of Vietnamese Migration
Nowhere else in Germany will you find as many histories and contemporary realities of Vietnamese migration linked to specific places as in Berlin-Lichtenberg. Silent Moves gathers original sounds, interviews, files from the Ministry of State Security and music to form an acoustic archipelago that lead to places of Vietnamese life from the GDR to the present day. In this way, the district becomes a walk-in audio archive containing voices of contemporary witnesses of the „first“ and „second generation“, ethnologists, psychiatrists, human rights activists and musicians. The listeners are invited to take the acoustic traces and follow the stories of Vietnamese migrants in Berlin.
