Every day, I walked through the crowded streets of Lisa e Maryam (لیسه مریم) in Kabul to reach the art gallery. This project is about finding inner quiet while moving through the chaos of the city. When I was walking through busy streets like this, everything felt noisy, fast, and crowded like an overwhelming blur. But as I walked this route every day, my perspective changed and I realized something: even though the crowd looks like a big blur of people rushing past, every single person carries their own hidden thoughts and quiet inner world. I established a daily walking ritual through Lisa e Maryam street, using deliberate stillness to measure the velocity of the city around me. By drawing myself standing still and glowing in the middle of the crowd, I showed this contrast between the busy street and my quiet thoughts. It shows my still, glowing figure standing calm while the surrounding crowd melts into motion against the streets of Lisa e Maryam.
The resulting painting presents as a visual record of this movement and captures that walking is not just about moving from one place to another, but it is also a time to think and stay calm inside when things around you are chaotic. It shows my own experience observing the busy crowd, while staying peaceful and strong within myself.
