This is part of my work being shown at the “Way Beyond” exhibition as part of the Australian Walking Artists national survey exhibition at Articulate project space in Leichhardt.

Passage is an emerging body of work which is exploring the process of grieving and loss after my father passed away in June 2023. It explores a range of media including images of bereavement flowers, cyanotypes from the flowers and walking documentation from Pumicestone Passage, a place of many happy family memories. The sub series “Walking in my Father’s shoes” literally is documentation of walks in a pair of shoes my dad bought not long before he became ill. The shoes were never worn and were gifted to me after he passed away, as we have the same size feet. The title also is an aspiration and desire for how I want to walk in this world, as my father was my mentor, guide and an example of humility, kindness and gentle strength which I wish to emulate in my life.
