Two stories, two interpretations of a walk along the river Deveron by Anne Murray and Jake Williams.

With the Flow musician Jake Williams walked the river’s 60-mile length with his banjo learning songs both old and new, from Broomknowe of Garbet to the Moray coast. Against the Flow artist, Anne Murray, walked in the opposite direction crafting objects as she walked. Together they give an opportunity for walkers to experience the banks of the river Deveron in a new light.

Anne Murray

Anne Murray is a ceramics artist, who lives in Huntly. Between winter 2012 and summer 2013, Anne walked the River Deveron 'against the flow', from source to sea; carrying with her everything she needed to observe, record and make things along the way. M...

Jake Williams

Jake Williams is a musician who lives at Bogenclogh in the Clashindarroch Forest. He walked the River Deveron from source to sea, with the flow in winter 2013. Anne Murray, a Huntly based artist, walked in the opposite direction from the sea to the source.
