Duncan is an award winning composer and sound artist whose practice utilises acoustic and digital forces. His output encompasses audio augmented reality, concert music, creative technologies, digital storytelling, performance, social practice, sound installations, soundwalks, and interdisciplinary practice that engages a variety of sources that include acoustic ecology, ethnography, folklore, science, and social and political issues. His work is commissioned, exhibited, performed and broadcast internationally by, amongst others, the Arditti Quartet, duoDorT, Fretwork, Galvanize Ensemble, Goldberg Ensemble, Jane Chapman, Juice, London Sinfonietta, Ensemble Okeanos, Making Music, Piano Circus, Tate Modern, and Whitechapel Gallery. Awards include two Sound & Music Shortlisted Composer awards, Handel House Composer in Residence, and twice nominated for an Ivor Novello Award.

Artist/researcher critically exploring walking, social media and intangible cultural heritage. Walking-with, walking and asking questions, as a creative, ecological, non-confrontational engagement with obscured and reluctant heritage.

Emma Welton is a composer and performs on violin and viola. With Icebreaker she has performed contemporary music internationally, including at New York City’s Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Centre, with Brian Eno at the Brighton International Festival, and in London’s Science Museum Imax cinema. Emma co-curates with Tony Whitehead A Quiet Night In, music nights exploring the creative possibilities in quiet/silence. In summer 2021 A Quiet Night In was commissioned by Exeter’s Outside the Box Festival to make at the end of the day, a devised piece for humans sounding with an outdoor habitat. In 2017 A Quiet Night In performance was recorded and broadcast by BBC Radio’s 3 ‘Exposure’, hosted by Verity Sharp, in a concert showcasing new and experimental music.
