Fani Konstantinidou
Fani Konstantinidou is a composer, sound artist, and musicology researcher. Her topic of research is the sonic imprints of cultural, cross-cultural, and social identities in contemporary music, and she is interested in urban and rural sonic environments, spoken language, and culturally associated musical instruments. In her artistic practice she creates various types of works such as site-specific and multichannel compositions, along with live, often improvised, performances. Konstantinidou studied electronic music composition in Greece (Master’s in Sonic arts & audio Technologies, Ionian University) and in the Netherlands (Master’s in Sonology, Royal Conservatoire). Currently she is at the finishing stage of her PhD research in cultural musicology at the University of Amsterdam. She was born in Thessaloniki and she lives and works in Amsterdam since 2009.
